Mutton
soup is one of the healthy food option for kids and even babies..! This healthy
soup for toddlers and kids made with mutton/lamb and spices. Mutton/lamb is
rich in iron and that is easily absorbed by the body and hence it should be a
part of kids diet. Mutton soup is one of the easy and best way to make kids eat
mutton/lamb. This mutton soup can be served with Idli or Idliyappam or with
dosa or roti 😁If you
want thicker mutton bone soup then you can adjust using thick coconut milk.
since it contains lots of protein.

Serves – 4
MUTTON SOUP FOR IDLY & DOSA
Ingredients:
1 lb Mutton/Goat Meat with Bones
1 Onion (Finely Chopped)
1 Tomato (Finely Chopped)
3
Green Chillies
1tsp Ginger garlic paste
1 String Curry Leaves
1 tsp. Chilli Powder + 1 tsp Coriander Powder
1/4 tsp.
Cumin Powder
2 and 1/2 cups of Water
Salt
to Taste
Pinch of Turmeric Powder
Coconut milk (optional)
Seasoning :
1 tsp. Oil
1 tsp. Mustard Seeds
1 tsp Urad dal
1 tsp. Fennel Seeds
2 cloves
1 inch
cinnamon
1 bay leaf
Preparation of
Mutton Soup Recipe :
ü First
clean the Mutton and pressure cook mutton pieces for up to 10 whistles with
enough water and salt to cook on medium flame.
ü Take a pan
and add a tbsp of oil and add mustard seeds, urad dal, and curry leaves. Allow
them to sizzle and add cloves, cinnamon, bay leaves and saute for a minute till
you smell the aroma of spices.
ü Add
chopped onions, green chillies and ginger garlic paste and saute until the raw
flavor of ginger garlic goes away and onions become translucent, should take
about 4 to 5 minutes.
ü Now add chopped
tomatoes and cook it till it is mushy. Add turmeric powder, chilli powder,
coriander powder, cumin powder and saute.
ü Now add
cooked mutton pieces along with water to the pan and let it cook for 10 min Now
add thick coconut milk (optional)
ü Garnish
with coriander leaves.
