DATES AND WALNUT CAKE
Cake with the flavor of Dates and Walnuts is quick, easy and just out of this world. Date Walnut cake is a very nice tea bread bursting with the flavor of sweet dates and crunchy walnuts.

Preparation time: 1 ½ Hour
Serves – 4

Ingredients:
Dates – 20 (5oz or 150g)
Refined flour (maida)/ Whole wheat flour -  2 cups
Water – approx 1/2 cup
Walnuts – 1/4 cup (30 g), chopped
Brown Sugar – ½ cup ( as required )
Milk –  as required
Ground cinnamon – 1 tsp
Nutmeg Powder - 1 tsp
Unsalted Butter – 1 stick (4oz or 113g)
Baking Soda – 1 1/2 tsp
Baking Powder – 1 tsp
Vanilla essence – 1tsp
All-purpose Flour – 1 1/4 cups (183 g)
Eggs – 2

Preparation:
ü Combine the All Purpose Flour / whole wheat flour along with the Baking Powder and the Baking Soda.
ü In a mixing bowl add brown sugar and butter and mix it. Then add ground cinnamon and nutmug
ü And all the dry ingredients (flour, baking soda, vanilla essence & baking powder) and mix well.
ü Add the beaten eggs alternatively with the flour in the mixing bowl till and add little milk.
ü Mix all the Ingredients well
ü Spray/Grease a baking pan and pour the batter into it.
ü Bake in a pre-heated oven (350 degrees F) for 50 minutes in the center of the oven.
ü Once done take the cake out and allow it to stand for 5 minutes before taking it out of the pan.
ü Loosen the edges and flip the cake onto a cooling rack.

Serve hot or cold.
