HOME MADE GULAB JAMUN RECIPE WITH KHOYA
Gulab Jamun literally translated to rose
berries, while rose means gulab and jamun are deep purple colour berries. Gulab
jamun recipe – It is a delicious melt in mouth sweet dish made up of khoya
(mawa), all-purpose flour and sugar syrup. Made with khoya and doused in sugar,
it just can't get better than this.

Jamun recipe

Preparation time: 1 hour
Serves – 4
Ingredients :
1 cup Khoya / Kova (unsweetened)
3 tablespoons all-purpose flour (maida)
2 tablespoons ghee ( as required )
1 tablespoons Sugar
1/2 cup warm milk
1 tablespoon powdered almonds, 1 tablespoon
powdered Cashews
Ghee for deep frying
5 to 8 saffron strand
1½ cups Sugar
1½ cups Water
5 teaspoon of lemon juice
For the Sugar Syrup:
Add sugar and water in a heavy bottomed pan
add a few saffron strands and lemon juice. Heat the sugar solution over medium
heat till the sugar is completely dissolved. Ensure that it does not reach the
one string consistency. Turn off the heat and mix well.
Preparing the dough for Gulab Jamun Recipe
With Khoya:
ü In
a bowl, Khoya, all purpose flour ( maida ), powdered almonds, Cashews ,Sugar
and mix it well. This will be consistency of soft dough. Cover and set
aside for about 10 minutes.
ü Knead
the dough grease your palm with ghee before working the dough.
ü Divide
the dough and roll them into round balls.
ü Heat
the Ghee in a frying pan on medium heat.
ü Place
the gulab Jamuns in the frying pan until it become brown.
ü Remove
the fried jamuns and place it into the warm sugar syrup.
Serve immediately and Enjoy :)
