Rava Idli

RAVA IDLI 
Rava idli is easy made breakfast made of Rava and Curd. Rava is also rich in potassium, iron and proteins, rava or semolina improves the heart's health and also helps in losing weight.

So let's see the preparation of the Rava Idli  recipe

Preparation time: 30 min 
Serves – 4

Ingredients
Rava/Sooji/semolina - 1 cup
Curd  - 1/2 cup
Ginger(chopped very fine or paste) - 1 tsp
green chillies(chopped very fine) - 4 nos
curry and coriander leaves - 1 tbsp (chopped very fine)
Baking soda – 1 tsp
Water - 1/2 cup (adjust to reach consistency)
Salt - As needed

To temper:
Mustard - 1/2 tsp
Urad dal  - 1 tsp
Channa dal - 1 tsp
Cashews - 1 tbsp
Oil and ghee - 1 tbsp

To decorate (optional)
Carrot gratings - 1 tbsp
Ghee roasted cashew nuts - 8

Preparation of Rava Idli :
ü Heat a kadai and add ghee and oil, splutter mustard and add the mustard, urad dal, channa dal,cashews.
ü Then add the finely chopped ginger and chillies.
ü Then add the sooji with curry leaves and coriander leaves to it and fry in a low flame without changing of the color.
ü Transfer to a bowl, allow to cool down and then add the curd, enough water ,salt mix well.(the consistency should be like our idly batter consistency, light and loose not too thick)
ü Heat the idly cooker with water and let it be just ready for steaming and grease the idly plates with ghee/oil.
ü At this time add the baking soda to the batter and mix well
ü Pour into the idly moulds and steam for 5-7 minutes
ü Now soft rava idlies are ready now!
ü Garnish if desired and Serve with onion chutney or your choice of chutney!!!
