Spicy Chicken Gravy (South Indian)

SPICY CHICKEN GRAVY 
South Indian style chicken curry recipe packed full of spices and flavour. It easy and delicious way of preparing chicken in Indian style. The ingredient is very simple and pretty straight-forward. This is such an easy dish, yet so delicious and flavorful.

Preparation time: 40 min
Serves – 4

Ingredients:
Chicken – 1 kg with bone cut into small pieces
Ginger Garlic Paste – 1 tsp
Onion – 4 large sliced thinly
Tomatoes – 4 large sliced thinly
Ginger Garlic Paste – 2 tblspn
Chilli Powder – 1 tblspn
Kura Podi  - 1 Tsp
Turmeric Powder / Manjal Podi – 1 tsp
Salt to taste
Coriander leaves a big handful finely chopped

To Temper :
Oil – 5 tblspn
Fennel Seeds / Sombu / Saunf – 1 tblspn
Cinnamon / Pattai – 2 cm piece
Bay leaves – 1 Leaf

Preparation :
ü Wash the chicken, mix with turmeric  and set aside for 30 mins. Now take this in pressure cooker, add chicken , 1 cup of water and mix well. Cover and pressure cook for 2 whistle, lower the flame and cook for 10 mins.
ü Now heat oil in a kadai,  add in fennel, bay leaf and cinnamon.
ü Add in onions, salt and saute till lightly golden.
ü Add in tomatoes and cook covered till mushy.
ü Now add in the spice powders and mix well.
ü Add in the cooked chicken with any liquid and mix well.
ü Now simmer this for 10 to 15 mins and add kura powder  
ü Add in coriander leaves and mix well.
